An old Barcelona bodega
Benet Mercadé is a narrow street in Gràcia named after the painter. Merchants once used it as a shortcut to and from the Llibertat market, and some stopped along the way.
At number 24, the Fonollosa family sold wine in bulk. Their barrels are still up on the mezzanine, and the house motto is still over the door: “Despatxant vi des del 1917”, serving wine since 1917.
From the kitchen, classic tapas and small plates: patatas bravas made with potato and sweet potato, the Barceloneta bomba, cap i pota with chickpeas, a truffled tortilla made to order.

Lloc ideal per fer uns vermuts i menjar uns platillos de qualitat. Tot el que vam demanar estava molt bo, però el que més ens va agrsdar va ser la truita de patates i tòfona feta al moment, espectacular!
Bodega de tota la vida amb producte de qualitat.
Només entrar-hi saps que tindràs un bon àpat!!
Tot bé, especialment la truita, ensaladilla russa i el pa de coca vidre. [...] Ambient agradable i música molt acollidora.
Aquest és un restaurant fantàstic. El menjar i les begudes són deliciosos i el personal és excel·lent. Si visqués en aquesta zona en comptes del Japó, hi vindria gairebé cada dia.
